There are a multitude of exciting things to do in Mesa, Arizona. One of which is the Commemorative Air Force Museum. When of the most adventurous thing to do is to take a ride in a: B-17G Flying Fortress, B-25J Mitchell, C-47 Skytrain, C-45 Expeditor, PT-17 Stearman, and L-16 Grasshopper. Per boarding takes about an hour, boarding takes 5 minutes, start up and taxi time takes 10 minutes, there is 25 minutes of flight time, and takes 5 minutes to land. Another fun thing to do is to visit the Museum located off of Greenfield and McKellips Road. There are informational exhibits that show the history of the Tuskegee Airmen, women in the Air Force, the Chow Hounds, and the Arizona Military Aviation.
The Arizona Museum of Natural History located at 53 N. MacDonald Street, Mesa, Arizona is a cool place to visit. The museum was established in 1977 and has continued to expand to the 74,000 sqft that it occupies today. The exhibits capture the history, habitat, and culture of the southwest.
The Rose Garden at Mesa Community College was established in 1997 by MCC and the Mesa-East Rose Society. There are thousands of roses and over 300 different types of roses. If you have never seen the garden, it is worth the trip.
If you are an outdoors man, the Rio Salado Sportsman’s Club is always a good time. They offer a variety of different types of ranges including: a pistol rage, indoor air rifle range, long range rifle, clay range, ect. There memberships that are tailored to fit both individuals and families. The club operates on 140 acres which is owned by the AZ Game and Fish Dept.
One of employee’s favorite things to do in Mesa, Arizona is to go to the Saguaro Lake Ranch Stables. There are several different types of horse available to ride through the saguaro inhabited environment. Rides go up and down hill and have great views of Saguaro Lake.
